On July 7th (2007) the racing world lost a force to be rekoned with.  Lee Anderson was an innovative young man with racing in his blood.  At the tender age of 33, his life was cut short and he was called above to be with God.  On behalf of the Huizenga and Fairbanks Racing Teams we extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Lee.  His memory will live on with anyone who came in contact with his fun loving personality.  God Speed Lee, you will be missed by many!

5/1/08

Wow, what a start to the season we have had!  I believe Jimmy has managed to get 10 total laps on the car..... bugger!  We had the motor builder at the garage last night, and we are pretty sure (fingers crossed) that we may be able to make it past hot laps this weekend.  J

We did attempt racing at Crystal Motorspeedway last Saturday (4/26), however; only made two hot laps before the car was brought in the pits.  It was subsequently loaded onto the trailer for the remainder of the night.  BUT... like I said before, we think we have found all of the little gremlins and we think we are ready for this weekend.  I've already heard talk that if it doesn't make it through this weekend, it will become a swing set or jungle gym.  Yeah, I highly doubt that will ever happen either, but he likes to say it, so I just humor him and say "yes honey the kids will love a new play toy".

You will see on the schedule page that I have both Winston and I-96 Speedway listed for this weekend, those are listed pending weather.  If it does not rain Friday night, we will be heading to Winston for the Player Hater 50 and will not be at I-96 on Saturday.  However, if it rains Friday, then we plan on heading to I-96 Saturday for the ALMS Show.  Just a little clarification for anyone interested in our plans, right now we won't be running both shows.

We are looking forward to a fun year, the house is coming along amazingly quick (knock on wood)!  We now officially have a basement, and the floor joists are going in today.  We are very lucky to have found an awesome builder, his team gives us something new to check out everyday when we walk across the street to check it out.  My nephew is loving watching all of the heavy equipment and trucks working over there.  He tells me "the tractors are building your house Aunt Gina".  Out of the mouth of babes..... LOL!

Well I suppose I should get back to my "real" job.  Depending on what Mother Nature decides to do this weekend... race safe and I'll see ya at the track.

Gina
